MaCKRO Home Page Contact Us The Fort Knox Bay Festival Boat Race was held Saturday July 26 under beautiful conditions. This year's race consisted of both an eight mile and a four mile course. The route was made interesting by not only the current, but by the many turns it involved, including two buoy turns and one bridge turn. Those choosing the eight-mile race did this loop six times, while those participating in the four mile course proceeded to do just three laps. What also made the course interesting was that as the tide ebbed, the course changed. First place finishers each received a small cannon to commemorate their win.
